NKBA Olympic-West Sound Chapter
In September 2006, the NKBA Olympic-West Chapter was formed from
a portion of the Puget Sound Chapter. The new Chapter is intended to service
members in Clallam, Jefferson and Kitsap Counties, as well as the northwest
corner of Pierce County west of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.
Unfortunately, the smallest area NKBA can process as a chapter is a three
digit zip code area. Accordingly, they have assigned the 983 zip code for
the new subchapter, which also includes some areas east and south of Tacoma
which would naturally fall within the Puget Sound Chapter.
If you are in that area, or if you are in Pierce County west of the Tacoma
Narrows Bridge and prefer to remain affiliated with the Puget Sound Chapter,
you must contact the NKBA office at 800-843-6522 and tell them that you wish
to remain in the Puget Sound Chapter. Likewise, members on Bainbridge Island
who are not in the 983 zip code, and who wish to be a part of the Olympic-West
Sound Chapter will also have to notify the NKBA office.
